ANCHORAGE - No charges have been filed in the shooting death of an east Anchorage man and a woman found with a gun at the scene remains free.
Police say they are waiting for autopsy results in the death Tuesday of 29-year-old Eric Nielson to determine whether it was a homicide.
Nielson was found dead with a single gunshot wound at a mobile home at about 2:15 a.m.
Police removed three children from the home but a woman with a handgun met them at the doorway and fired a shot into the air. A negotiator talked her into surrendering.
She had not been charged by Friday afternoon and was not in custody.
Police spokeswoman Anita Shell said she could face a weapons charge.
