ANCHORAGE - The Community Hall on St. George Island is Alaska's most endangered property.
That's the determination of the Alaska Association for Historic Preservation.
The organization said it compiles the top 10 list to call attention to threatened properties that define the state. Nominations are submitted by individuals and groups throughout the state.
Coming in second is the Holy Assumption Orthodox Church in Kenai, followed by the Attu Battlefield, St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Juneau and the Wireless Transmitter Site on Government Hill in Anchorage.
The rest of the list includes the Eagle historic district, the Colony Project Warehouse in Palmer, the 4th Avenue Theatre in Anchorage, the Victor Holm Homestead in Kasilof and Sheldon Jackson College in Sitka.
