Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Sound off on the important issues at

Drunken driving:

• Police arrested 34-year-old James Ronald Rentzel on a charge of drunken driving at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday on Fritz Cove Road in Auke Bay. They lodged him at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and impounded the vehicle he was driving.

Underage drinking:

• Police cited an 18-year-old woman, an 18-year-old man, and a 14-year-old girl for underage drinking at 11:25 p.m. Wednesday at Sandy Beach on Douglas.

• Police cited a 19-year-old man for underage drinking at 1:34 a.m. Thursday on Third Street in Douglas.

Hit and run:

• A 24-year-old woman reported at 4:09 p.m. Wednesday that her 2003 Honda was struck by a white Subaru while parked in the 200 block of Jordan Avenue.

Vehicle accidents:

• A 39-year-old woman was issued a verbal warning at 5:38 p.m. Wednesday for unsafe backing after the 1992 Mitsubishi she was driving struck a 2001 Dodge driven by a 22-year-old man in the 2900 block of Riverside Drive.

• A 1992 Jeep driven by a 44-year-old woman and a 2004 Honda driven by a 26-year-old woman were involved in an accident at 8:41 a.m. Thursday in the 9100 block of Mendenhall Mall Road.

Traffic stop:

• A 20-year-old man was cited for driving without a license and no seatbelt at 7:34 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of West Willoughby.


• Police cited an 18-year-old man for city larceny at 10:05 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of West Willoughby Avenue.
