Mo. man wanted in Alaska surrenders

BLOOMFIELD, Mo. - A southeast Missouri man is awaiting extradition to Alaska on attempted murder charges after turning himself in to police.

Christopher Burleson of Dexter, Mo., surrendered Thursday afternoon at the Dexter Police Department. He is 24.

The shooting happened last year in Houston, but charging documents were filed in Palmer, Alaska. The victim's name was not released, but news reports say the victim was shot once in the chest.

Police said drugs were involved in the incident.
