Former Juneau resident Roscoe Van Pool died the morning of May 31, 2007, at Mercy Hospital in Janesville, Wis. He was 70.

He was born and raised in Janesville. While living in Juneau, he worked in construction, was involved in the Juneau Mining Company and was part-owner in the Thane Ore House. In more recent years, he had been in a partnership in recycling businesses in Janesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Dorothy Van Pool; brothers, Donald, Perry, Ralph and Richard Van Pool; and sister, Jeanie.

He is survived by his wife of two years, Linda Van Pool; sisters, Betty, Delores and Ester; sons, Dave Van Pool, Dale Van Pool, Dan Van Pool and his wife, Pat, Brian Van Pool, and Jim Thomas and his wife, Misty; daughters, Bonnie O'Brien and Tonya Fuchs and her husband, Willie; grandchildren, Patrick, Kim, Misty, Brooke, Claudia, Susan and her husband, Brandon, Wyatt, Ryan James, Troy, Amiah, Jessica and Sadie; and great grandchildren, Jaymee, Ashleigh, Krystin, Justin and Brandon Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews; and step son, Christopher.

Services will be held in Janesville.
