Juneau resident Katherine Marie "Kathy" Waller died May 12, 2007, at her home. She was 48.

She was born on April 7, 1959, in Tacoma, Wash., to Ronald and Grace Wells. On June 21, 1975, she married her high school sweetheart, Jesse Waller Jr. They moved to Juneau in 1992. In 2005, they decided to spend winters in Yuma, Ariz., near her parents.
She enjoyed boating, fishing, hiking and "soaking up" the sun, family members said.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Wells Jr., and uncle, John Waller.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Roni Holzwarth and her husband, Chris, of Colorado; son, Travis Waller and his wife, Cali; grandchildren, Keson Waller, Javen Waller, Michael Hanks and Dakota King, all of Washington; parents; sisters, Tammy Risner and Penny Basse; brother, Jim Wells; goddaughter, Harly Hildre; and many other relatives and close friends in Alaska, Washington and Arizona.
No local services are planned. She was cremated, and her ashes will be spread at a later date.
