ANCHORAGE - Bills for Enstar natural gas customers in southcentral Alaska could be going up.
Enstar Natural Gas Co. is seeking permission from state regulators to increase rates to cover its costs to deliver the gas. Rates for the gas itself are set separately.
Enstar has filed with the Regulatory Commission of Alaska to raise rates by about 4.7 percent for residential customers, taking that monthly fee to nearly $28.50.
The utility said if approved, the rates could go into effect sometime next year. The state agency is expected to hold hearings on the request.
