ANCHORAGE - An Anchorage jury deliberated for three hours before finding a man guilty of murder.
Randy McDaniel was found guilty Thursday of shooting Antonious Garvin on June 20, 2006.
Prosecutors said the 25-year-old McDaniel and a co-defendant drove up behind a car driven by Garvin and began shooting at his passenger as the car waited at a stop light. McDaniel and the passenger had had a prior dispute in high school and were not friends.
The defense argued that McDaniel acted in self defense. But prosecutors said the evidence showed that Garvin's passenger did not return fire but both McDaniel and the co-defendant shot 19 rounds at Garvin's car.
Judge Phillip Volland set sentencing for September.
