Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:


Police arrested a man, 32, for domestic violence assault at 8:41 p.m. Wednesday in the Mendenhall Valley. He also was charged with assaulting a police officer. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Police arrested a man, 31, for domestic violence assault at 10:27 p.m. Wednesday in the downtown area. The man was lodged at the state prison.


Police received a report at 10:53 a.m. Wednesday from Glacier Highway of a digital camera and a portable CD player, valued at $589, stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Police received a report at 4:08 a.m. today from Glacier Highway near Lemon Creek of a stolen red Panasonic cell phone.


A woman, 46, was cited for misconduct involving a controlled substance at 1:06 a.m. today near Second Street and Seward Street. She was released.

Vandalism and criminal mischief:

At 8:40 a.m. Wednesday near Mendenhall Loop Road, police received a report of a vandalized 1998 Ford Taurus.

At 1:40 p.m. Wednesday near Nugget Place Road, police received a report of a vehicle vandalized with spray paint. Damage is estimated at $1,000.

Vehicle accidents:

Police cited a girl, 14, for careless driving following a three-vehicle accident at 2:05 p.m. Wednesday near Anka Street and Glacier Highway. A 1995 GMC Jimmy, driven by the girl, struck a Pontiac van, driven by a man, 64, whose vehicle in turn struck a 1990 Toyota truck driven by a man, 37. The Jimmy sustained $3,500 in damage; the van, $5,000; and the Toyota $500. Minor injuries were reported and no one was taken to the hospital.

Animal encounters:

Bears were reported at 9:12 p.m. Wednesday near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek, 9:13 p.m. near Old Dairy Road, and 10:23 p.m. near Amalga Street.
