A 10-year-old Juneau boy died Sunday morning after his family's 2001 Dodge Durango rolled over eight miles south of Tok.

Tray VanEpps was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, according to an Alaska State Troopers report. He was pronounced dead at the Tok Clinic.

Danyelle Brooks, 29, was driving the Durango. Her four children, 14, 11, 10 and 5, were the passengers. The family was on its way to Palmer.

Troopers responded to the accident at 8:37 a.m. near milepost 116.8 of the Tok Cutoff. They said Brooks reached to open a box of donuts, taking her eyes from the roadway. The Dodge's right front tire left the roadway, and Brooks overcorrected to the left, then back to the right.

The Dodge rolled three times before coming to rest on its wheels., troopers said.

Another child received minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Alcohol was not involved.
