Juneau Freewheelers - Team Time Trial: This 25-mile time trial begins at 6:30 p.m. on the North Douglas side of the bridge. There is also a 14.5-mile event in the sport division. Info: Chris Chiles, 789-5138.

Southeast Road Runners - Windfall Lake Trail Challenge: This challenging run of about 14 miles starts at 9 a.m. (registration 8:30 a.m.) at the West Glacier parking lot, just past Skaters Cabin. It goes up Montana Creek Road and Montana Creek Trail, crossing over to the Windfall Lake Trail and ending at its trailhead near Mile 27 of Glacier Highway. Info: Ben Haight, 780-4215.

Capital City Soccer League - Men's league managers will pick teams in early June using player agreements, which were due June 1. Team registration for the women's competitive league was held June 1. League play begins on Thursday, July 1. Registration for the women's classic league - a less-competitive league open to all ages and experience levels - lasts until June 15, with late registrations accepted on a space-available basis. Doyle Academy Baseball School - Gastineau Channel Little League will host its ninth annual Spring Players' School on June 7-11 at Miller Field, located next to Glacier Valley Elementary School. Juneau Soccer Club Tiffeny Milbrett & Christine Sinclair soccer camp and clinics: JSC is sponsoring a camp for club members on June 8-10, featuring U.S. National Team member Tiffeny Milbrett and Canadian National Team member Christine Sinclair. The camp runs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. each day, and the cost is $100. Registration information on the Web at www.juneausoccer.org. Milbrett and Sinclair will also host two community clinics - for boys and girls ages 6-12 on Thursday, June 10 from 3 to 5 p.m.; and for women of all ages on Thursday, June 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost for each clinic is $25, with on-site registration. Thunder Mountain Sports Camps: Registration is underway for Thunder Mountain youth soccer and baseball camps, which will feature local coaches along with high school and college coaches from the Lower 48. Four camps are available: "wee" soccer, July 5-9, $75; regular soccer, July 12-16, $100; advanced soccer, July 19-23, $100; baseball, July 19-23, $75. JRC-The Alaska Club sports camps: Beginning the first Monday of summer break, JRC-The Alaska Club will offer a series of nine week-long sports camps for kids ages 5-12. The camps offer instruction and play for racquetball, basketball, wallyball, soccer, badminton, volleyball, tennis and more. Dates are June 7-11, June 14-18, June 21-25, June 28-July 2, July 12-16, July 19-23, July 26-30, Aug. 9-13 and Aug. 16-20. Ultimate Players of Southeast Alaska - UPSEA will host a 4-week-long Ultimate Frisbee learning league for beginners and non-competitive athletes interested in the Frisbee football game. The league will meet at a time TBA on Tuesday nights during June, with skills drills to open each session followed by a scrimmage. The cost is $25 per person. Treadwell Arena inline hockey leagues - Juneau Parks and Recreation/Treadwell Arena will be running inline hockey leagues for youths and adults from June 11 through August 13. Juneau Disc Golf Association registration - The Juneau Disc Golf Association's season has started. The new course is at Aant'iyeik Park, located above Glacier Highway between the Auke Rec turnoff and Lena Loop Road. The next tournament is scheduled for June 5-6. Juneau 4-H Spring Running Club - This program is for runners in grades 1-5, with a separate club for runners in grades 6-8. The club meets at 5:30 p.m. every Thursday at various locations around town through the spring and summer, at least through the Douglas Two-Mile run on July 4. The grades 6-8 running club also will have runs at 5:30 p.m. every Wednesday at the same location as that week's Thursday run. Bring a water bottle and be dressed to run. If you haven't been to one of the weekly runs, please contact the University of Alaska Extension Office to register. Upcoming meeting places are Sandy Beach on June 10, Rotary Park on June 17, the Adair-Kennedy Memorial Park track on June 24, and Cope Park on July 1. Local runners John and Jamie Bursell lead the group for grades 1-5, while Craig Farrington leads the middle school group. Parents are encouraged to run with their kids. Zach Gordon Youth Center climbing wall - Climbing wall hours are 3-7 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and 3-9 p.m. on Fridays. The climbing wall can be used by people of all ages. Climbers age 20-younger climb free, while adults 21-older pay $5 to use the wall. Youth-adult interaction is encouraged, so an adult climbing with a youth pays no fee. Juneau Department of Parks and Recreation Wednesday and Saturday hikes - For updates on locations of Wednesday and Saturday group hikes, call the Juneau Parks and Recreation Hikes Hotline. Always remember to bring plenty of food and water, wear warm layers of clothing and proper footwear for the hike. No dogs or firearms are allowed. Wednesday hikes are limited to hikers 18 years of age or older. Saturday hikes are open to families, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
