Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Sound off on the important issues at

Driving while intoxicated:

• Police charged 49-year-old Jesse Waller with drunken driving and released him at 9:35 a.m. Tuesday on inbound Egan Drive at Sunny Point.


• A 43-year-old man reported a $150 amplifier and speakers, valued at $200, were stolen from his vehicle at 5:42 a.m. Tuesday in the 4400 block of Mint Way.

• A 62-year-old man reported a 20-inch red Dynacraft bicycle stolen at 11:43 a.m. Tuesday at Glacier Valley Elementary School.


• A 19-year-old woman reported at 3:18 p.m. Monday that a window on her 1992 Honda had been shot sometime during the previous two days in the 9100 block of Glacier Highway, near the Juneau International Airport.

• At 4:16 p.m. Monday, a man reported an estimated $500 in damage to a security gate at Fish Creek.

• At 7:05 a.m. Tuesday, police received a report that three mailboxes and two vehicles had been spray-painted in the night, in the 2600 block of Engineers Cutoff Road.

• A 52-year-old woman reported at 8:01 a.m. Tuesday that someone had spray-painted structures, picnic tables, a portable toilet and a trailhead near the intersection of Glacier Highway and Engineers Cutoff Road.

• A 50-year-old woman reported at 8:12 a.m. Tuesday that a window had been shot with a BB gun, causing up to $300 damage, in the 9300 block of Glacier Highway, near the airport.

• At 8:26 a.m. Tuesday, windows were reported broken out of a 1989 Toyota truck and a 2004 Subaru at Cope Park.

• A 30-year-old woman reported vandalism to a 2004 Mercury at 10:46 a.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of Fifth Street.

Traffic accident:

• A 58-year-old man was cited for failure to exercise due care after a 12:11 p.m. Monday accident in which the 1995 Dodge pickup he drove struck the rear of a 1998 Ford driven by a 17-year-old boy at mile 11 Glacier Highway.

Underage drinking:

• Police cited a 16-year-old girl for minor consuming alcohol at 12:03 a.m. Tuesday in the 9300 block of Lee Smith Drive.

• Police cited a 20-year-old man for minor consuming alcohol at 3:18 a.m. Tuesday at Glacier Highway and Sherman Lane.


• A 25-year-old man reported credit card fraud occurring either in Juneau or the Philippines.

Animal encounters:

• At 10:12 p.m. Monday police received a report of an nonaggressive bear on Lund Street.

• At 11:35 a.m. Tuesday police received a report of a bear getting into garbage in the Cope Park area.
