JUNEAU - United Way of Southeast Alaska is proud to announce the receipt of an $18,500 technology grant from the Rasmuson Foundation.
"We are so grateful for the continued support of Alaska's most generous foundation," said Larry Harris, chairman of the United Way of Southeast Alaska.
The funds will be used to purchase new monitors, a laptop computer, networking equipment, copier, fax machine and donor management software.
"Like most nonprofits, we've been operating with secondhand equipment," said Brenda Hewitt. "This grant will help us be more efficient. We had a wonderful group of dedicated volunteers that did a thorough evaluation of our needs and wrote this grant. I'd like to publically recognize Michelle Prebula and her committee for their hard work. Our community is truly blessed with some great civic minded citizens that understand what it means to live united."
The technology grant will supply a new copier, fax, projector, printer, laptop, a computer, two desks with keyboard trays, new software for Web management and donor management software.
