Posted: Sunday, June 07, 2009

The Office of Children's Services and the Juneau Foster Parent Licensing team would like to thank the following people and agencies for their help with the ninth annual Foster Parent Appreciation Dinner:

• Thank you, Wal-Mart for the generous Community Grant. Without your help this event would not have been possible.

• Thank you, SYSCO Food Services, and especially senior marketing associate and Southeast manager Brian Jenson, who not only provided the entrée but prepared it and the accompaniments as well.

• Thank you, Juneau Yacht Club, for the generous contribution of St. Ann's Hall for the event.

• Thank you, Tlingit & Haida, for funding Jim Brown and his balloon animals. They were a big hit with the kids.

• Thank you, Catholic Community Services, for your help with set-up and children's activities.

• Thank you, Steve Heppner, for your hard work as a prep-cook.

• Thank you, Brian Gomez, for your help with set up and serving.

• A special thank you to Kayla Brown and Danaya Caldwell, who generously donated their time with set-up and breakdown and whose face painting was the hit of the party.

• Thank you to all of the OCS staff and their families who helped and participated in this event.

Our biggest thank you goes out to all of our wonderful foster parents whose love and compassion for Alaska's children is demonstrated everyday as they work to keep our children safe in our communities. We appreciate everything you do.
