On May 15, the Juneau Therapeutic Court celebrated their annual ceremonial commencement and open house at the Dimond Courthouse. More than 80 community members, judges, lawyers, recovery advocates, press, graduates and current participants attended.
Thank you to NCADD and VISTA volunteers Jackie and Andrew for hosting the reception. Thank you to Mary Miller, Andrew Ebona and the rest of the Yaaw Tei Yi dancers for their special performance. Thank you to Partners for Progress and Randy Wilson for sponsoring and presenting the Judge Keith B. Levy Community Service Award.
And thank you to all the court personnel, members of the recovery community and all the others who came together to make this a success.
Addiction can be arrested, and the revolving door of the courthouse can be closed. It begins here, it begins now, it begins with us.
