JUNEAU - The Juneau Community Gardens and the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service will sponsor an orange hawkweed pull at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at Juneau Community Gardens.
The weed pull will be combined with the JCG’s annual rhubarb potluck, which will begin at 11:30 a.m.
Marie Heidemann, IPM technician for CES, will provide a short presentation on orange hawkweed and invasive weeds at 12:15 p.m., followed by a hands-on weed pull. JCG members can fulfill community service hours during the weed pull event. Light snacks and refreshments will be available and the general public is invited to attend. Children with adult supervision are also welcome.
