ANCHORAGE - As many as 10 people were injured when a cruise ship hit an iceberg on Portage Lake.
The Anchorage Daily News reported that the vessel struck the iceberg Friday afternoon after a tourist reported spotting a bear.
Alaska State Trooper spokeswoman Beth Ipsen said the captain swung the vessel around for passengers to get a better look and bumped the ice berg. Two people fell during the incident, with one hitting her head on a rail.
The jolt apparently did not significantly damage the tour boat operated by Portage Glacier Tours.
Ipsen said the Coast Guard will likely investigate.
