Man convicted in wife's stabbing death

ANCHORAGE - An Anchorage jury convicted a man of first-degree murder in the stabbing death of his wife.

Leng Moua stabbed his wife, Shoua Lee, to death during an argument in 2006.

Moua, 57, stared straight ahead as the verdict was read.

His lawyer had argued that he stabbed Lee in the heat of passion after a daylong argument. She urged jurors to return a manslaughter verdict.

Prosecutors argued that Moua knew he would kill or seriously injure Lee when he stabbed her at least nine times. They said that made his crime murder.

Moua is scheduled to be sentenced in September.
