FAIRBANKS - The University of Alaska Board of Regents has approved a new name for the University of Alaska Fairbanks' Tanana Valley Campus.

Starting July 1, the school will be called the UAF Community and Technical College. The change is intended to clarify the type of classes offered as well as the school's connection to UAF.

The Tanana Valley Campus was launched in 1974. It offers more than 40 one-year certificate and two-year associate degree programs. Liberal arts classes and specialized training programs also are available.
