Police and Fire

Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:


• Police cited a woman, 18, of Soldotna, at 3:48 p.m. Sunday near South Franklin Street for shoplifting and tobacco possession.

• Two whale-watching tickets were reported stolen at 5:35 p.m. Sunday from a vehicle parked near Hospital Drive. A cord for a cell phone also was cut.

• A Redline bike was reported stolen at 8:43 p.m. Monday near Renninger Street.

Vandalism and criminal mischief:

• Water balloons were reported thrown at a vehicle at 6:27 p.m. Sunday near Glacier Highway and Engineers Cutoff. The balloons damaged the driver's side door of a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier.

• Food was reported smeared on a truck at 5:19 a.m. Monday near West Ninth Street.

Animal encounters:

• Bears were reported at 7:28 p.m. Monday near Montana Creek and 11:31 a.m. Monday near Mendenhall Loop Road.
