Nelsons to celebrate their 50 years of marriage in July

Juneau residents Jim and Dotty Nelson were married on Dec. 26, 1954, in Portland, Ore. They moved to Juneau with their four children, Susan, Eric, Pete and Rolf in 1967.

A celebration of their 50 years together will take place with a dance and appetizer potluck at St. Ann's Parish Hall on July 1 and a picnic at Sandy Beach on July 2.

The festivities begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 1, with couple dancing and music by Dale Wygant. There will be contra dancing from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m., music by Full Circle and caller Tom Paul. Those attending are invited to bring their favorite savory finger food or dessert to share.

The gathering at Sandy Beach will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 2. Burgers, hot dogs and drinks will be provided. Please bring a salad or dessert to share.

All friends of the Nelson family are invited to attend either or both of the events. Call 789-9517 for more information. No gifts please.
