JUNEAU - In another sign of Alaska's late spring, frost showed up in parts of Juneau, the National Weather Service reported.
Meteorologist Andy McLaurin said frost was spotted Monday morning on windows of cars and on grass at his Mendenhall Valley office.
An unusually cool air mass, clear skies and light winds cooled down the area.
The low plummeted to 31 degrees at the forecast office, breaking the previous low for June 9 set just last year at 36 degrees.
