NUNAPITCHUK - An Atmautlauk man has been missing since early Saturday, Alaska State Troopers reported Monday.

A boat belonging to Billy Nicholi was found aground with its motor running on a Kuskokwim River bank near the mouth of the Johnson River by a resident of Nunapitchuk.

Nicholi was last seen at about 11 p.m. Friday at a fish camp just south of Oscarville.

Witnesses say he was intoxicated when he left the camp in his 18-foot boat.

He told others he was going home to Atmautlauk.

Searchers looked for Nicholi by air, foot and boat Saturday.

On Saturday night, boat teams were sent to drag the river.

Atmautluak is a community of just over 300 about 20 miles northwest of Bethel.
