The Juneau-Douglas City Museum is currently accepting applications for solo artist exhibitions for the fall 2011/ winter 2012 season. Local artists working in all mediums are encouraged to apply. Applications can be found at the city museum or online at: www.juneau.org/parkrec/museum/SoloArtistExhibit.php. The deadline for applications is Monday, August 30.
This season, the museum will feature solo artists Patrice Helmar and Phoebe Rohrbacher.
Both Helmar and Rohrbacher's proposals were selected because of their artistic ability and the strong connection between the artists' work and the city museum's mission.
In 2009 and 2010, the City Museum was able to offer exhibitions to four local artists, highlighting a variety of art forms including painting, beading and fiber arts.
