Drunken driving:
Police arrested 25-year-old Jerry Hunter Knapp on a charge of drunken driving at 4:58 a.m. Saturday in the 5000 block of Glacier Highway. They lodged him at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and impounded the vehicle he was driving.
Domestic violence:
Police arrested a 41-year-old Juneau woman on charges of domestic-violence assault and violating conditions of release at 11:52 a.m. Saturday downtown. They lodged her at the state prison.
Burglary:
Various medications were reported stolen at 9:35 a.m. Friday in a burglary from a home in the 9900 block of Stephen Richards Memorial Drive in the Valley.
Medications were reported stolen from a home at 11:02 a.m. Friday in the 700 block of Willoughby Avenue downtown.
Thefts:
A 15-speed bicycle was reported stolen at 12:37 p.m. Thursday from a yard in the 1000 block of Arctic Circle in the Mendenhall Valley.
A painting valued at $300, was reported stolen at 1:27 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Franklin Street downtown.
A gas small gas tank was repoorted stolen at 1:41 p.m. Thursday in the 4400 block of Columbia Bouldevard in the valley.
An audio unit with a compact disc player and two cases of CDs were reported stolen at 2:34 p.m. Thursday from the from the 3600 block of Amalga Street in the Valley.
A teal bag containing medications, an ivory sperm whale tooth valued at $350, an ivory spotted seal valued at $650, a small ivory seal valued at $250 and a box of checks was reported stolen at 6:29 p.m. Friday in the 1800 block of Shell Simmons Drive.
A red Magna 18-speed mountain bike valued at $40 was reported stolen at 8:38 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Mendenhall Loop Road.
Vandalism:
Graffiti vandalism was reported at 8:37 a.m. Friday on the side of a building in the 300 block of Seward Street downtown.
A rear window broken out of a 2000 Subaru Forester was reported at 7:22 a.m. Saturday in the 3700 block of Killewich Drive.
A sign was reported broken at 8:03 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of South Franklin Street.
Vehicle accident:
Police issued a verbal warning after a an accident at 1:58 p.m. Thursday at Shattuck and Municipal ways downtown. A 2005 Honda, driven by an 84-year-old woman reportedly struck a 1984 Volkswagen driven by an 18-year-old man.
Traffic stop:
A 44-year-old man was cited for driving without a license at 1:16 a.m. Saturday in the 2000 block of Jordan Avenue. The motorcycle he was operating was impounded.
Underage drinking:
A 19-year-old man was cited for underage drinking at 11:40 p.m. Friday at Mendenhall Loop Road and Wren Drive.
Police cited two 20-year-old women on charges of underage drinking at 1:39 a.m. Friday near Third Street in Douglas. One of the women also was cited for providing false information to the police.
Police cited two man, ages 18 and 19, on charges of underage drinking at 3:49 a.m. Friday in the 1800 block of Douglas Highway.
Animal encounters:
It was reported at 12:42 p.m. Friday that a glacier bear was struck by a vehicle at mile 25 on Glacier Highway. The bear fled the scene.
A bear was reported near Sixth Street downtown.
A mother bear and two cubs were reported at 9:28 p.m. Thursdy in a tree at picnic grounds near Lena Loop Road.
