JUNEAU - State health officials say there are now 11 confirmed cases of swine flu in Alaska, including the first case in the state's largest city.
Health department spokesman Greg Wilkinson said a 28-year-old Anchorage man reported feeling ill June 1.
He was given antiviral medication and was feeling better three days later. No one in his immediate family has reported feeling ill.
Of Alaska's 11 cases, eight are in the Interior, two in Southeast and the one Anchorage case.
There have been four other known cases of swine flu on cruise ships traveling in Alaska waters, but those are not attributed to state totals.
