FAIRBANKS - A couple who videotaped a toddler engaged in sexually explicit behavior will serve three months in jail.
Xavier and Jadelin Caldwell of Fairbanks pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography. Besides jail time, Superior Court Judge Michael McConahy sentenced the couple this week to three years probation and they must register as sex offenders for 15 years.
Prosecutors say the Caldwells were videotaping a party five years ago when the son of a friend refused to go to sleep and started running around naked. Co-defendant Elizabeth Demarre encouraged the child to engage in sexual behavior on camera, though no one touched the boy.
The 27-year-old Demarre has pleaded guilty to unlawful exploitation of a minor and faces up to six months in jail.
The tape was discovered last year after the Caldwells moved out of a rental property.
