...for 'Dads' support

The Auke Bay Cooperative Preschool would like to hank our friends, family and Juneau neighbors for participating in the 2001 "Dads on Duty" fundraiser. According to Stacey Morales, the fundraising chairman, it was the most successful to date. She did a great job and we would like to acknowledge all of her hard work. We would also like to congratulate our grand prizewinner Delores Graver for winning six men for six hours. She will be able to supply party favors to her newly adopted work crew with her $100 gift certificate donated by Valley Lumber (tool belts for everyone!). J. Seligman (our second prize winner) can possibly fly over Delores' house for a bird's eye view of the work party in progress via a helicopter four for two that was generously donated by Temsco Helicopters. Our lucky third prizewinner, Bridget Lujan, was unavailable for comment. She is probably at "Curves" enjoying her one-year membership. Congratulations to all of our winners, and there were many. Thanks to all the merchants who give both large and small donations; you make this event possible. ABC preschool is a "parent run" school and uses this fundraiser to update supplies and to offer scholarships to needy families. To find out more about the preschool, please call 789-2302. We thank the Empire for always covering our yearly event, and we thank our Juneau community for making it so successful!
