Chester, Jacobson marry
Dora Chester and Vince Jacobson, both of Yakutat, were married on April 13 in Las Vegas.
The bride is the daughter of Mark Kjerstad and Esther and Bob Brooks of Juneau. She is a graduate of the University of Alaska Anchorage and is employed as a police dispatcher for the City of Yakutat.
The groom is the son of Kathy Jacobson of Yakutat and L.B. Jacobson of Fort Meyers, Fla. He is a graduate of the University of Wyoming and is the Yakutat station manager for Alaska Airlines.
Hill, Makaily plan wedding
Atricia K. Hill and Al Makaily, both of Juneau, will marry Friday in a ceremony at the Dimond Court House.
The bride-elect is the daughter of James J. and Betty Z. Hill. She is employed with the Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
The groom-elect is the son of Andrew and Olga Makaily. He is employed in waste management in Juneau.
Friends and acquaintances are invited to a reception that begins at 6 p.m. at the Thane Ore House
Sylvesters to celebrate 50th
Roger and Cleone Sylvester will celebrate 50 years of marriage at 4 p.m. on June 16 at the Jubilee Cabin of the Shrine of St. Therese.
Friends, neighbors and acquaintances of the couple are all invited to attend.
Mrs. Sylvester is a graduate of the University of Vermont. Mr. Sylvester graduated from Utah State and, until his retirement in 1980, worked as a forester for the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
The Sylvesters arrived in Juneau in 1965. They have two children, Brian and Rob, and five grandchildren. Brian, his wife Linda and their children live in Juneau; and Rob, his wife Debbie and their children live in Fairbanks.
