Chomsky documentary at Nickelodeon

JUNEAU - John Junkerman's "Power and Terror: Noam Chomsky in Our Times," plays at the Gold Town Nickelodeon at 7 and 9 p.m. Friday, June 13, 4, 7 and 9 p.m. Saturday, June 14, and 4 and 7 p.m. Sunday, June 15.

The film collects interviews and lectures the political analyst gave after the events of Sept. 11, 2001.

"Professor Chomsky succinctly lays out the post 9/11 geo-political realities of the day in language that would have most rock stars regurgitating their paté into their kidney-shaped pool," according to dissidentvoice.org. "This is information we all need to hear, information that goes far beyond fashionable poses or indecipherable theories."

Stroller White, Tlingit Dancers play Concert in the Park

JUNEAU - Stroller White Pipes and Drums and the Juneau Tlingit Dancers will headline the weekly Concert in Marine Park, 7 p.m. Friday, June 13.

Jeff Brown's Feets of Prestidigation will play first, and Michael Orelove will emceee.

The rest of the month's lineups are:

• June 20 - Daughters of the New Moon, Thunder Mountain Big Band, emcee Collette Costa.

• June 27 - Juneau Lyric Opera, Valle Son, emcee Antonio Diaz.

JUMP deadline set for July 1

JUNEAU - The JUMP society, a local film group, is accepting films for its annual festival, tentatively scheduled for July 12.

The deadline for films is July 1. All films must be shorter than 12 minutes and submitted in digital form, Mini-DV tape, Hi-8 tape or VHS.
