Geraldine 'Geri' Dewart Goodwin

Former Juneau resident Geraldine "Geri" Dewart Goodwin, 70, died in her sleep March 20, 2006, in Raymond, Wash., after a brief illness.

She was born Sept. 5, 1935, in San Francisco, to Clement and Helen Dewart. She eloped with William "Bill" Goodwin in 1951. She came to Juneau in early 1958, working at St. Anne's Nursing Home. She was a grocery checker for Independent Grocers Alliance until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Helen-Jean Dewart of Juneau.

She is survived by her husband, William, of Raymond; son, Dan Goodwin, of Petersburg; daughter, Linda Goodwin, of Raymond; grandchildren, Brendan Goodwin, Manjit Kattaria and Janey Goodwin; two brothers and five sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

Services were held at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Raymond.
