Synchronized swim class offered

The Juneau Aurora Knights Synchronized Swim Team will hold a free class at the Augustus Brown Swimming Pool at 9 a.m. Saturday. For more information call Christine at 586-8248 or Julia at 780-6248.

Native groups seeking Fourth support

The Hoonah Alaska Native Brotherhood and Sisterhood Camp 12 are seeking donations of prizes, gift certificates or cash for their 2000 Fourth of July festivities. The prizes will award participants in, among other competitions, the marathon races, a pie eating contest and parade participation for the best decorated and most patriotic. ANB and ANS are seeking assistance from businesses in the Juneau, Sitka and regional areas.

Cancer therapy speech offered June 22

Dan Labriola will speak at a brown bag lunch on Thursday, June 22 at McPhetres' Hall, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 325 Gold Street in downtown. Labriola's speech will deal with ``Combining Traditional and Non-Traditional Therapies to Win the Battle Against Cancer,'' and is sponsored by Genentech BioOncology Inc. and the Southeast Alaska Cancer and Wellness Foundation. The luncheon, which lasts from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., is free.

Museum to celebrate centennial

A centennial celebration for the Alaska State Museum and Historical Library will be held from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 1. All food vendors and caterers interested in participating in a food court should contact Dave Lefebvre at 790-3357 for more information.
