Little League: A's break out the bats in a win over the Reds

Jackson Lehnhart went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and was a single shy of hitting for the cycle in the Athletics' 20-11 win over the Reds in Gastineau Channel Little League Major Baseball action.

Matt Whistler pounded out four hits and four RBIs with a sacrifice for the A's. Also in the win, Shamil Blaisdell went 3-for-4. Marc Heifetz and Camden Thomas each went 2-for-4, and Matt Campbell added a base hit and three runs scored.

For the Reds, Matthew Vandor smacked a two-run home run.

The Reds trailed by 16 runs in the sixth, but battled back for seven runs in the frame.


A's 8, Diamondbacks 3

Matt Whistler picked up the win and Jackson Lehnhart nailed down the save as the A's topped the Diamondbacks.

Shamil Blaisdell, Derek Vance, Camden Thomas and Lehnhart all had hits in the win. Thomas' hit was a triple.

Adam Soto, Marc Heifetz and Alex Erickson all played well in the field for the A's.

For the Diamondbacks, Zander Hoke collected two base hits.

Mariners 16, A's 7

Jeffrey Pusich, Kyle Gould and Tyler Moss combined on the hill to give the Mariners a win over the A's.

At the plate, Pusich doubled and tripled in the win.

Jackson Lehnhart went 2-for-3 for the A's while Camden Thomas and Zack Bicknell each reached base in three at-bats.

Lance Ibesate struck out 16 batters and aided his own cause with two base hits as the Phillies edged the Mariners.

Ryan Kelly went 2-for-3 and Jeryd Schauwacher contributed the game-winning hits with a two-out single in the bottom of the sixth.

Mariners 9, Devil Rays 1

Four different pitchers limited the Devil Rays to just one run in six innings as the Mariners sealed a win.

Christian Gould, Jeffrey Pusich, Paul Wisner and Tyler Moss combined in the win.

Offensively, Pusich hit a three-run homer to center field, doubled and scored three times.

Josh Magnuson went 3-for-4 while Derrick Bropst and James LeBlanc added base hits in the win.
