Flora Factories camp to start Monday

JUNEAU - Space is available for children ages 10 to 13 in the Flora Factories which starts this week.

Campers will eat spruce tip jelly over homemade ice cream, identify and sample some local plants and try their hand at tree coring. They will explore the variety of plantlife in the Mendenhall Recreation Area with Forest Service naturalists and meet at the new Forest Service office on Back Loop Road (adjacent to the weather station).

Crystal Lake Day Camp meets 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and explores a new topic each week. For more information, call 209-8600.
