As an Alaskan who knows the significance of fossil fuels to my economic well-being, I implore Sen. Lisa Murkowski to get real!
The uncontrolled, wasteful and often malicious abuse to the Earth is a result of our ignorant taking of her bounty for lazy, self-serving and effortless gratification. Me and my children's physical, mental and emotional quality of life is far more an asset to human productivity than the depreciation or depletion of non-value added capital goods.
Until we become better stewards of the Earth's gifts, demeaning them with a "slash and burn" policy of greedy sustenance must be controlled.
Please do not abrogate public policy that gets closer to stewarding those gifts. Let the EPA control greenhouse gases and preserve the Clean Water Act and the Clean Air Act as they stand. If anything, toughen and make those "acts" more rigorous.
