Lifelong Juneau resident Ida Beierly died June 13, 2008, at Mount Edgecumbe Hospital. She was 84.
Born Dec. 28, 1923, in Juneau, to William K. James and Minnie James Howard, she was a Raven-Seagull.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 50 years, Robert Beierly Sr.; daughters, Rosalina Patterson and Roberta Beierly; and stepfather, Eli Howard.
She is survived by her daughter, Josephine Armstrong and husband, Bob; son, Robert Beierly Jr. and his wife, Flora; 20 grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. tonight, June 18, at the Tlingit and Haida Community Council Building. A reception by the Alaska Native Sisterhood Camp 2 will follow. A private viewing for family and friends was held Tuesday at the Alaskan Memorial Park and Mortuary.
