JUNEAU - In conjunction with the Rhubarb Festival being held this weekend at the Juneau Community Garden, organizers are inviting the public to a potluck and orange hawkweed pull at the garden from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 19.
Participants will be able to enjoy locally created rhubarb recipes and snacks beginning at 11:30 a.m. The weed pull will begin at 12:30 p.m.
This red-orange flower stands about 12 inches tall and has small leaves. The plant itself contains milky juice and develops above-ground runners, like strawberry plants. It flowers in late June and July.
