Earthquake rattles Egegik residents

NAKNEK - Residents of Egekik were rattled by an earthquake Wednesday night that was centered 12 miles southeast of the southwest Alaska community.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude 3.6 earthquake at 10:19 p.m. was 4.2 miles deep.

KAKN-radio in Naknek reports no damage occurred.

Egegik is a community of 73 on the Alaska Peninsula 100 miles southeast of Dillingham and 326 miles southwest of Anchorage.
