Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:


A man called at 6:20 p.m. Monday to report the theft of hand and power tools, VHF radio, CB radio and a television from his boat in the Aurora Harbor Boathouse. The theft occurred between June 10 and June 13.


A search warrant was served at a residence on 2nd Street in Hoonah on June 13. Items seized were marijuana packaged for distribution, U.S. currency, paraphernalia, packaging materials and firearms. A man was contacted at the residence; the investigation is ongoing.

Vandalism and criminal mischief:

A report was received at 7:43 a.m. Monday that a vehicle on 7th Street downtown had been keyed Tuesday night. The complainant indicated that other vehicles also were keyed.

Vehicle accidents:

A 44-year-old woman was cited for failure to maintain a safe distance after her 1990 Chevy SW rear-ended a 1993 Honda Accord driven by a 40-year-old woman. There were no injuries, but the Accord sustained $3,000-4,000 in damages.

Animal encounters:

Bears were reported on Professional Plaza at 7:45 a.m. Monday and Ann Coleman Road at 10:36 p.m. Monday.


An 18-year-old man was arrested for driving with license suspended at 12:47 a.m. today on North Douglas Highway. He was released and the vehicle was released to a licensed driver.
