Police and Fire

Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:


• Two subwoofers and an amp were reported stolen from a 1995 Ford Taurus at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday near Stephen Richards Drive.

• Two silver BMX bikes valued at $150 were reported stolen from a residence at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday near Stephen Richards Drive.

• A walnut guitar was reported stolen from a business at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday near South Franklin Street.

• A wallet with $80 in cash was reported stolen at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday near Front Street.

Vehicle accidents:

• At 3:45 p.m. Tuesday near Yandukin Drive, a 1996 Saturn driven by a woman, 24, drove into the back of a 1998 Ford van driven by a man, 46. The Saturn had $1,000 in damage, the van $100.

• At 4 p.m. Tuesday on Egan Drive near Sunny Point, a 1993 Volkswagen driven by a woman, 53, struck a 1988 Dodge pickup driven by a man, 48. The Volkswagen was towed from the scene.

• At 6 p.m. Tuesday near Cinema Drive, a 1990 Ford driven by a woman, 19, collided with a 1994 Chevy Astrovan driven by a woman, 30. The 19-year-old was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign and not having proof of insurance. The Ford had $3,000 in damage, the Chevy $1,000.

Animal encounters:

• Bears were reported Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. near Garnet Street, and Wednesday at 12:20 a.m. near Thunder Mountain Road, 5:30 a.m. near Pine Street, and 9:15 a.m. near Glacier Highway and Lemon Creek.


• A padded backstop was reported vandalized, with $200 in damage, at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday near Riverside Drive.

Alcohol-related incident: 1.
