ANCHORAGE - A 19-year-old woman died Wednesday in a two-car collision in Anchorage.

Carmela Bacod of Anchorage, a passenger in a Toyota Echo, died instantly in the crash that occurred at 12:26 a.m.

Police Sgt. Matt Bloodgood said the driver, Aprillynn Encabo, 19, of Anchorage, was turning left on 42nd Avenue from southbound Lake Otis Parkway.

Bloodgood said the Toyota turned in front of a northbound Jeep Cherokee driven by Breanna Widger, 24, also of Anchorage. He said the Jeep struck the passenger side of the Toyota.
