Two benefit events

Two events are scheduled this weekend to benefit the family of 2-year-old Catherine Johnson who, on June 29, will be making her second trip to Seattle for heart surgery and for evaluation of the installation last year of a pacemaker.

There will be a car wash and bake sale at the SEARHC parking lot this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The wash will cost $5 and there will be fried bread, fish and crackers, cookies and other delectables for sale.

On Sunday at the Tlingit and Haida Community Center from noon to 6 p.m., there will be a luncheon fundraiser. Lunch is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and youth. Children 5 and under, free.

There will also be performances by the Yun Shuka Dancers, the Juneau Youth Choir and the Juneau Jumpers. There will be door prizes, a Chinese auction and a silent auction as well.
