Don't stifle speech

Letter to the editor

Posted: Sunday, June 20, 2004

As my father before me, and my son after me; I also served this country in the military. Contrary to B. Wright's June 12 letter to the editor, I served so we could all be free to express our ideas, not stifle them.

As a lifelong Democrat, I find it refreshing to listen to Rush. He is an entertainer, but he brings to light items and points of view that are not found in the newspaper or on TV. If he had been around in the 1960s when I grew up, I'm sure I would have had more interest in politics.

I think we should encourage our youth to listen to Rush and thank the FCC for keeping our airways open, and not encourage them to stifle free speech.
