Donna Chadbourne and John Standerwick celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 8, 2007. Their family and friends will celebrate with them in July at the family cottage at Algonquin Park in Ontario, Canada.

The couple was married in 1957, in Bangor, Maine. After John's graduation from the University of Maine, they moved to Washington, where he started his career with the U.S. Forest Service. In 1961, they moved to Alaska, where they raised their five children, and she pursued her interest in becoming an artist. In 1990, they retired and moved to Port Angeles, Wash.
