New weed, pest technician available

Posted: Friday, June 20, 2008

JUNEAU - Every summer the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service hires an integrated pest management technician as a resource for Juneau's local gardeners and community members. The IPM technician is available throughout the summer months to answer questions specifically involving ecologically sound control methods for insects and weeds.

This summer's IPM is Marie Heidemann, and she can be reached at the Bill Ray Center, 1108 F St., Suite 213, downtown, or by calling 796-6241 or 796-6221. She is available Monday through Friday and can visit homes throughout the week.

Please call Heidemann with any weed, insect or plant disease question or concerns.
