JUNEAU - It's a great way to end Solstice Weekend - Perseverance Theatre's final production of the season, "Salmon-chanted Evening," from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday.
Now in its third year, the fundraiser will celebrate the end of the theater's fiscal year, the beginning of its 30th season and the arrival of its new artistic director, Art Rotch.
The evening, which raises money to help end the fiscal year in the black, will include an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring the Thane Ore House's famous salmon, halibut, baked beans and salad, and the Divine Dessert Auction, with local bakers representing a number of other community arts groups.
An Alaskan beer and wine cash bar will be available, as well as complimentary nonalcoholic beverages. In addition, the Red Ticket Raffle will provide chances to win dining experiences at a number of Juneau's epicurean establishments. In addition, the "Nativity puppets" from the past season's Long Ride Christmas Home will be auctioned off during the evening's event.
Another highlight of the evening promises to be the chance to meet the Theatre's new artistic director, Art Rotch, and to hear him talk about the Theatre's 30th Anniversary season (for which tickets will be available throughout the evening - at a discount!).
Admission is $22 for adults and $1 for each year of age for those 17 and under. Tickets are available from board members and volunteers, or by calling Development Director Jenny Lagundino at 364-2421, ext. 228 for more information.
