ANCHORAGE - A federal jury has convicted an Anchorage man of armed bank robbery.
Miguel Kalilikane on Wednesday was found guilty of armed credit union robbery, armed bank robbery and use of a pistol during a crime of violence.
He also was convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm or ammunition.
Kalilikane has prior felony convictions in Hawaii for burglary, escape and promoting a dangerous drug.
Federal prosecutors said Kalilikane on Dec. 17 brandished a Bersa .380 semiautomatic pistol and robbed an Alaska USA Federal Credit Union, escaping with $4,350.
Ten days later, he robbed a Northrim Bank within a Carrs/Safeway grocery store and escaped with $2,920.
Sentencing is set for July 11.
