JUNEAU - A Coast Guard helicopter delivered two pumps to a fishing boat taking on water off Kodiak Island.
The 154-foot Lady Kiska on Thursday was able to pump water out of its engine room and head to Kodiak. The boat and four crew members arrived back in Kodiak shortly before noon.
The Coast Guard's Air Station Kodiak took a call at 4:15 a.m. that the Lady Kiska was taking on water seven miles off Cape Chiniak.
The fishermen reported that one of its own two dewatering pumps had a damaged discharge valve.
A rescue helicopter delivered two pumps at 4:56 a.m.
