Trail repair work scheduled Saturday

Trail Mix has scheduled a volunteer work day for the Lemon Creek Trail beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Participants are asked to meet at the southeast corner of the Costco parking lot. Appropriate clothing, gloves, water and a lunch should be brought.

Veteran of Lutheran radio speaks in Juneau

Oswald C.J. Hoffmann, who served for more than 30 years as ``Lutheran Hour Speaker'' on Christian radio, will be the featured guest at a lunch and speech Friday at Faith Lutheran Church, 2500 Sunset Drive.

The lunch will be at noon, with Hoffmann's speech following at 1 p.m. He has performed Christian work for more than 60 years as a teacher, pastor, author and lecturer. His work has taken him to numerous countries.

Parade entry deadline June 28

The deadline for entries in the city's Fourth of July parade is June 28.

Categories include color guard, marching unit, drill team, musical group, float, youth group, antique car, custom car, classic car and animal. Entry fees range from $35 for floats and decorated vehicles to $5 for marching and animal units. Individual youth entries are free.

Exchange student program seeks hosts

Families interested in hosting exchange students are being sought by Cultural Homestay International.
