Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Sound off on the important issues at


• Two gold rings and prescription medication were reported stolen in a burglary reported at 2:13 p.m. Monday in the 8600 block of Teal Street near the Juneau International Airport.


• A spare tire was reported stolen at 12:28 p.m. Monday from a vehicle in the Douglas Harbor parking lot.

• A fishing reel and a hand-held charger were reported stolen at 5:19 p.m. Monday at Don Statter Boat Harbor.

• A satellite radio antenna and audio equipment were reported stolen from a boat near Brandy Lane in the Mendenhall Valley.

• At 8:32 p.m. Monday, $60 was reported stolen in the 2200 block of Crow Hill Drive in the Douglas area.


• Police arrested an 18-year-old man on a charge of concealing merchandise at 3:37 p.m. Monday at a business in the 8100 block of Glacier Highway. He also was arrested on a warrant for failing to appear in court on an underage drinking charge and was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Vehicle accidents:

• Police cited a 25-year-old man on charges of driving without a license, carrying no proof of insurance and failing to maintain a safe distance in traffic after an accident at 12:27 p.m. Monday on Egan Drive at Glacier Highway in the Jordan Creek area. He was driving a 1980 Ford truck that sustained an estimated $100 in damage. A 1975 Ford, driven by a 56-year-old man, sustained an estimated $300 in damage. A 1980 Ford truck, driven by a 33-year-old man, sustained an estimated $2,500 in damage.

• Police cited a woman, 19, on a charge of negligent driving after a single-vehicle accident at 6:21 a.m. Tuesday on Mendenhall Loop Road and Powers Street. She was driving a Dodge Durango. No damage reports were available.

Hit and run:

• A parked vehicle was reported at 12:06 a.m. Tuesday to have been struck by a 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier near Main and Third streets downtown.

Traffic stops:

• Police impounded a vehicle at 3:20 p.m. Monday on Mallard Street near Jordan Avenue after citing the driver, a 33-year-old man, on a charge of driving without a license.

• Police impounded a vehicle at 8:04 a.m. Tuesday on outbound Egan Drive at Twin Lakes after citing the driver, a 26-year-old woman, on a charge of driving without a license.

Animal encounters:

• A bear was reported getting into litter at 12:04 a.m. Tuesday near Troy Avenue downtown.
